Welcome Back!

Welcome back to a new school year at Northwood Elementary and the Reach Program! I'm excited to be returning to Northwood in my second year teaching Reach students. As in life, there are some changes since last year. We graduated our 6th graders and, from what I've heard, they miss us and really like Merton Williams. With all the screening, permission forms and scheduling completed, we found more students entered the Reach Program than left...totaling about seventy students clustered in eleven classrooms. We've also moved, to make room for a growing Northwood population, to rooms A27a and A27b just outside the A1-6 core off the cafeteria. Students have complimented how cozy and comfortable the rooms are and they like them. It is a great space for small groups of students. Larger groups of students will use a combination of the cafeteria , Small Theater, Library, and MPR. Looking forward to the exciting learning opportunities ahead!

RIT Career Fair August 20, 2007 - FREE!

Reach For The Stars: RIT Career Fair-August 20, 2007
Age Level(s): All girls (not only Girl Scouts) Grades 4-12

Learn how girls can get started on a career in astronomy, imaging sciences, and other related fields. The various RIT departments will present information, including what schooling is needed. Corporate partners will have displays with information about the jobs that are available, as well as new fields that are opening up, and the advantages for women to have careers in these fields. There will be interactive activities, displays, many people to answer any questions you have, and this is a great opportunity to get to know the RIT campus. This event is open to all girls, whether you are a registered Girl Scout or not! Bring all your friends to this informative, free event!

Welcome to My Blog

I'm currently using this blog in a summer course to learn how to use blogs. I plan to use it next year to promote more communication between school and home.
